Who are we?

The American Chamber of Commerce in Madagascar is pleased to announce the launch of a new website called www.theamerican.mg, funded and supported by the U.S. Embassy in Madagascar.

For a wider English-speaking readership
Back to 2017, the AmCham started a magazine called “The American”, a free quarterly magazine fully edited in English, which served as a newsletter to AmCham members. The magazine has been printed in a limited number of copies distributed to the Chamber’s members and partners.
The American magazine was created to meet one of AmCham’s missions, which is to promote the use of the English language within the business community in Madagascar. Today, as the world moves into the digital age, the AmCham decided to start this website called www.theamerican.mg.
The website is free and easily accessible by a wider Anglophone readership.
Unlike printed newspapers and online journals, the website is not a traditional information media.
The editorial team will not report daily news but will deal with a variety of topics from different angles
A collaborative and interactive digital platform
The American website is a collaborative platform which is open to leaders and experts in different fields who are willing to share non-political ideas, opinions and analysis. In order to engage readers and to make the website more interactive, a comment section is available to anyone who has successfully signed in; and each publication will be shared on social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We encourage our readership to speak out in the most respectful way, with no room for hate and violence.
The AmCham wishes you a good reading journey.
